Terence Nombembe is one of South Africa's most respected accounting and governance professionals, renowned for his contributions to public financial management, accountability, and ethical leadership. A graduate of iYunivesithi Walter Sisulu's predecessor institution, he built an illustrious career in auditing and public administration. Mr. Nombembe has been appointed as the Chairperson of Council of WITS.
Among his most notable achievements, Nombembe became South Africa's first Black Chartered Accountant to serve as Auditor-General of South Africa, a position he held from 2006 to 2013. During his tenure, he championed transparency, accountability, and sound financial governance across national, provincial, and local government institutions.
